Community Development Officer At Save the Children

Community Development Officer- AVCD/Basque Project (Nationals Only)

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Community Development Officer is responsible in the smooth planning, coordination and implementation of plans and activities in the project areas. S/he will be the primary responsible focal person in organizing and mobilizing partner stakeholders’ and institutions in the project areas. S/he will be the on-site representative of Save the Children Philippines (SCP) especially in courtesy meetings, consultations and other meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least 3 years’ experience in working on Education in Emergencies and Child Protection issues or an equivalent level of experience
  • Experience in partnership with and providing support to the government agencies, civil society groups-NGOs, community-based organizations or people’s organizations
  • Experience in project management cycle
  • Ability to adapt new ideas and innovation; capacity to think strategically
  • Preferably with a degree in Education, Community Development, Social Sciences or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity and experience with the concepts of human rights, empowering civil society, local governance, children’s rights and child protection
  • Can deal with various levels of stakeholders-from decision-makers to field level practitioners
  • Has proven skills in program management, training design and delivery, and facilitation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Computer literate and adept in the use of MS Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Can work well in highly stressful situations, prioritizes deliverables and meet reasonable deadlines
  • Understands and believes in Save the Children’s mission and vision; commits to its objectives and willing to adopt Save the Children’s methodology and framework

Willing to travel to any part of the country and be deployed in both humanitarian response and development programming

Contract length: Fixed Term position until October 31, 2022 based in Cotabato City
