The Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP) is a global partnership between business, civil society and government, dedicated to the sustainable reduction of road crashes in low- and middle-income countries. In collaboration with its members, GRSP is a leading contributor to global road safety knowledge, and through a participatory approach in its project work, builds capacity of road safety stakeholders and encourages the adoption of global good practice to address local road safety issues.
The Road Policing Capacity Building Programme is one of the GRSP programmes. Under the Bloomberg Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS), the Global Road Safety Partnership is supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies to undertake projects in a number of low- and middle- income countries to reduce road crash deaths and serious injuries. In particular, GRSP builds the capacity of police in BIGRS priority cities to strengthen their ability to carry out effective road policing. Additionally, other Donors are increasingly requesting GRSP to deliver road policing capacity building and there is increasing demand for short term consultant support to deliver new short term road policing related programmes being funded by a range of donors.
