Chemonics seeks candidates for the chief of party for the anticipated $10-25 million USAID Indonesia New Municipal Solid Waste Management and Partnership (Selaras). This Activity seeks to help Indonesia achieve its development goal of reducing marine plastic pollution by improving urban waste management through public institution strengthening and private sector partnerships. This Activity’s proposal, the chief of party (COP) is responsible for providing the overall strategic direction, managerial, and technical leadership to ensure the achievement of the Statement of Objectives (SOO) to ensure project success. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in engineering, waste management, public policy, business, natural resource management, or other related fields
- At least 10 years of demonstrated technical expertise in waste management, waste recycling, and/or source reduction with substantial understanding of developing country contexts
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in a management position on an international waste management project or other relevant donor-funded development program context
- Experience in Indonesia preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects of similar magnitude and complexity
- Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of government, the private sector, civil society counterparts, multilateral development banks, the donor community, other United States Government agencies, and United Nation partners
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English required, and Indonesian preferred
