About the role

ODI is seeking to appoint a talented Senior Publications Officer to join our multi-faceted public affairs and communications team. This role is responsible for managing, planning and coordinating the full range of publications and production tasks, from final manuscript to digital and printed outputs, including briefing freelance suppliers such as copy-editors, proof-readers, designers and printers, as well as layout, proofreading and page-checking. This role will work flexibly across ODI, in accordance with priorities agreed with the line manager, to deliver on a range of communications activities.

About you

We’re looking for a senior publications professional with extensive experience in the scheduling, coordination, planning and project management of a complex and very full programme of publications. You will be a confident self-starter with the ability to work with colleagues at all levels of seniority. You will have extensive experience in briefing and managing external contacts and suppliers, to ensure that ODI’s publications processes are efficient, smooth and effective. You will have strong organisational skills, a proven ability to work to deadlines and under pressure and the ability to manage and prioritise tasks; excellent writing, editing and proofing skills; good knowledge of social media, digital platforms and web content best practice; and very strong attention to detail.
