Background
The Standby Partner Help Desk and Information Management Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and Global Standby Partnership Technical Advisor and the overall guidance of the iMMAP Representative in Geneva.
Description of Duties
The Standby Partner Help Desk and Information Management Officer will support iMMAP’s Standby Partnership Program (SBPP) and selected other projects initiated by headquarters level partnerships, e.g., support to Global Humanitarian Clusters, UN organizations, or NGOs, Government Agencies. Specifically, s/he will be responsible to:
· Provide project and financial tracking of the SBPP and other projects.
· Keep the SBP Project Manager informed of the progress of the projects, identify any issues, and recommend solutions.
· Work closely in partnership with the SBP Deployments Officer on strengthening of the SBP Roster platform in iMMAP Careers: identify candidates for the Roster, manage the technical selection, serve as the technical interviewer in interview processes.
· Identify technically capable and sectorally experienced candidates, participate as the technical advisor in the interview, and selection of candidates for deployments.
· Provide the technical brief to all SBPP deploying personnel before deployment and technically support deployed SBPP personnel while they are on mission.
· Revise or develop best practice guidelines, SOPs, onboarding guidance, M&E tools, impact measurement tools, and processes.
· Review and provide comments/advice on monthly, quarterly, and end of mission reports of all SBPP deployed personnel & other projects monitored.
· Actively participate in the Help Desk (iMMAP Careers, Knowledge Management, technical support, Induction Course developed in Easy Generator).
· Develop and implement specific tools to improve iMMAP Geneva workflow process.
· Be the iMMAP’s information technical focal point with JIPS, ACAPS, IMPACT Initiative, MAP ACTION and CARTONG (SBP network), IMWG, EPI-WIN.
· Contribute to relevant iMMAP communications products.
· Assist the Geneva Representative with technical assistance for partnerships.
Qualifications and Skills
· At least 6 years of experience as an Information Management Officer in the field with iMMAP or a UN Cluster Lead Agency such as OCHA, WHO, HCR, UNICEF, WFP, etc.
· Strong technical level of the full spectrum of IM tools: ESRI products, Adobe, reporting tool, data collection tools, Office suite including SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, etc.
· Permission to work in Europe or Switzerland.
· Bachelor or Master’s degree in GIS expert or data management
· Strong management and organizational skills, very good knowledge of project management, and support operations.
· Previous experience in emergency operations, especially in the Middle East and Africa.
· Strong presentation and communication skills.
· Fluent in English and French (written and spoken).
Working Conditions
· Position is home-based in Europe, preferably in the Geneva area, with the agreed fee.
· NO expatriate package is provided.
· Travel costs and Daily Subsistence Allowance are provided when on mission, as indicated in iMMAP policies.
