Here at Action for Humanity we have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Finance & Services to join our team based in Salford, Greater Manchester. You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role.

The Head of Finance & Services is a member of the Finance & Services department. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, ideally within the charity or education sectors, as well as experience of managing change and growth.
This is a key position on the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) responsible for supporting the Chief Finance Officer in managing the strategic and accountability frameworks across all areas of the AFH Operations. With a strong focus on finance, this role will also take accountability for, ICT and Human Resources and Facilities.
Key duties and responsibilities of the Head of Finance & Services:
- · To ensure that the finance and services functions are run effectively and provide the necessary high-level
- · services to the rest of the organization both in the UK and worldwide.
- · To ensure full compliance with all relevant regulations and AFH’s policies and procedures
- · To ensure the organisation’s financial procedures, record keeping, auditing, reporting are of highest standards.
- · To have regular contact with SLT, Country Directors as well as various departments’ and units’ heads.
- · To communicate effectively and systematically across the organisation.
- · To engage with the wider external stakeholders by meaningfully interacting with auditors, governmental agencies, non-governmental agencies as well as other key stakeholders

What we’re looking for in our Head of Finance & Services:
- · Qualified Accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA).
- · Knowledge and experience of Charity finance would be an advantage
- · Experience in dealing with external audit and internal audit functions
- · Significant experience of a senior leadership team role is essential, as well as having managed a direct team and promoting high performance.
- · A proven track record of successfully managing all aspects of an operation and delivering successful outcomes.
- · Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build great relationships with external stakeholders, our trustees and funders and our partners and members.
- · Excellent communication skills recognising the need to raise awareness and grow our offerings through presentations to a variety of stakeholders
