Active in around 40 countries, Tdh works with local and international partners to develop and implement field projects which improve the daily lives of over 4 million children and members of their communities, in the domains of health, protection and emergency relief. This engagement is financed by individual and institutional support, with administrative costs kept to a minimum.

Context:

Within the framework of TDh’s strategic plan 2021-24, in accordance with the social mission as well as the Foundation’s charter and under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations, your main responsibility with your team, will consist in creating the new Emergency Response Service.

This service will mainly support the operational teams (portfolio, programmes and expertise) to deploy field operations, and will exceptionally manage operations directly, particularly when opening or closure, over a defined period of time.

Main Responsibilities:

In strong coordination with relevant stakeholders the candidate will have to :

  • Integrate the emergency component into the strategic reflections underway at the Regional level and when existing, country strategies.
  • Help priority programmes to integrate emergency objectives and activities in their updated Theories of Change and adapted tools.
  • Ensure compliance with the Foundation’s policies and framework within your team at headquarters and in the field.
  • Manage your budget in accordance with the guidelines and policies of the Finance department.
  • Define and plan the human resources requirements for the smooth running and implementation of field operations.
  • Represent the Foundation to institutional and private partners and the relevant networks as well as develop new partnerships.

Profile:

Education: University degree in relevant field

Experience :

  • Proven experience in an international leadership role in humanitarian and/or development aid, both at headquarters and in the field.
  • Experience in Head of Delegation positions.
  • Experience in volatile and dangerous contexts.
  • Experience in senior management positions in a headquarters.
  • Proven experience in managing projects funded by institutional donors (including SDC, ECHO, UN Agencies, OFDA, BPRM.

Language: Excellent writing and presentation skills in French and English, professional knowledge of German is an additional asset

IT Knowledge : ; Solid computer literacy skills, excel, word & PPT
