Communications Associates (Full-time staff) At Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue

The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) is a private diplomacy organisation founded on the principles of humanity, impartiality and independence. Its mission is to help prevent, mitigate and resolve armed conflict through dialogue and mediation. HD is looking for:

Communications Associates (Full-time staff)
Based in Geneva
Starting date: End-October 2021
Available positions: Two

The Communications department oversees external and internal communications, media relations and HD’s brand.
HD is hiring two Communications Associates to join its team in Geneva. Reporting to the Head of Communications, these interesting, varied and challenging positions would best suit early career professionals.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain HD’s online presence in English and French (HD website, social media and internal platform)
Support development, production and promotion of printed content, including HD’s annual report, factsheets, brochures and other publications
Assist with designing and editing various written materials in English and French
Work closely with project teams, senior management and external consultants
Assist with regular Comms tasks, including managing external and internal requests for information/content, dissemination of press releases, etc
Support day-to-day monitoring of news relating to HD
Help to plan and run events as required, including HD townhalls, donor briefings, formal dinners, media roundtables, etc
Assist in HD’s archiving project and Comms administration tasks
Qualifications/Skills:

Degree in a relevant field

Fluency in English (mandatory). Good working knowledge of French, Spanish or Arabic is an asset

Solid understanding of news and media production

Solid editing skills in English and ideally in French, Spanish or Arabic

Web savvy

Personal Characteristics:

Strong ability to multitask

Strong attention to detail

Dynamic, sociable and motivated

Flexibility (including some evening/weekend work)

Ability to manage tasks with little supervision

Willingness to share and discuss creative ideas

Passionate about current affairs and HD’s mission
