JOB SUMMARY:
Right To Play (RTP) is seeking a Global Partnerships Officer who will lead coordination on two LEGO Foundation funded education projects and provide cross-portfolio support for the broader Global Partnerships team that oversees all LEGO Foundation projects for the organization.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Partnerships and working in close cooperation with the wider Global Partnerships team, Global Program Unit, Program Finance, and multiple Country Offices, this role requires a high level of collaboration and coordination. The position will be based in London, UK or Toronto, Canada. However, given the impact of COVID-19, the successful candidate may be required to work from home in the initial months of their tenure. The role may be required to travel globally up to 10% of the time, however travel requirements may change based on the COVID-19 situation.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Responsibility #1: Grant Management and Donor Compliance (65% of Time):
- Provide project management for at least one LEGO foundation funded education project working in close collaboration with the Global Program Development team and various Country Office teams
- Support the overall grant management for other LEGO Foundation funded projects delivered by RTP, working in close collaboration with the Global Program Development team and various Country Office teams
- Lead multi-functional project teams to achieve successful compliance with donor agreements across the LEGO Foundation portfolio, this includes provision of direct and indirect support to Country Office and Global Office staff
- Ensure the development and finalization of several different program management and planning initiatives, most notably semi-annual and annual reporting, annual work planning, program finance and budget monitoring, grant monitoring and donor agreement management
- Coordinate Project Steering Committee meetings for projects in the LEGO Foundation portfolio
- Coordinate program planning and implementation oversight for projects in the portfolio in collaboration with Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL), Program Finance, and the Global Program Development teams
- Support the coordination and development of program and project communication/stewardship materials. Communicate and document project successes and lessons learnt and share externally and internally
- Ensure the promotion of best practices and lessons learnt by documenting successes and areas of improvement
- Based on the identification of needs, coordinate and participate in planning and support visits to relevant countries
Job Responsibility #2: Proposal Development and Resource Mobilization (20% of Time):
- Support the coordination and development of technical proposals, including building and managing a proposal development team, engaging appropriate team members and specialists.
- Support the writing and review of major funding proposals and budgets, ensuring that the products submitted achieve a standard of excellence and are compatible with both internal and donor policies.
- As needed, support partnerships and collaborative activities between RTP and other organizations, governments, donors, and partners to support new business development opportunities
Job Responsibility #3: Partnership Development and Support (10% of Time):
- Support organizational efforts to further develop RTP’s partnership with the LEGO Foundation
- Support organizational inputs at events, roundtables, conferences and meetings that can support relationships with the LEGO Foundation, and other existing funders or implementing partners.
- Support Global Partnerships Managers on a range of reporting tasks, including proof reading reports and work plans, developing reporting templates and workback schedules, and consolidating variance reports
Job Responsibility #4: Performs other duties as may be assigned (5% of Time)
EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION:
- University degree, college diploma or equivalent in a related field (e.g. International Development, Public Policy/Administration)
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in grant management, program management, compliance and donor management in an INGO, particularly with grants and programs focused on education.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in and excellent understanding of the grant management cycle, logical frameworks, budget monitoring and experience of working with major institutional donors, foundations, and multilateral organizations.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in coordinating and preparing successful proposals and reports for major institutional donors, foundations, and multilateral organizations.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Solid knowledge of international development and humanitarian programming and policy.
- Excellent planning, management and coordination skills, with the ability to organise a workload comprised of varying and changing tasks and responsibilities.
- Flexibility and ability to respond quickly to changing priorities and produce results for short deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral), interpersonal, public relations and report writing skills.
- Good analysis, problem solving and project management skills.
- Ability to maintain composure whilst dealing with competing priorities and stakeholders.
LANGUAGES:
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Fluency in written and spoken French is an asset
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS (An Asset)
- Experience working and living in a range of cultural contexts and in developing countries.
