About the Role

The Partnerships Coordinator role is a key member of the CARE in the Pacific team which is responsible for managing partnerships and programs in the Pacific countries where CARE does not have a country office (currently Fiji, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Samoa, Kiribati and Tuvalu).

The role will work closely with the Manager, Finance and Grants Coordinator, Gender and Inclusion Senior Advisor, Program Quality Coordinator, project coordinators and partners to provide direct technical advice and support on partner-led programming using a range of CARE international program guidance and approaches that have been adapted for the Pacific and are gender and disability inclusive. This includes working with partners to facilitate the technical assistance to implement partner-led projects, support on workplans, project and organisational operations and systems, donor reporting along with the integration of gender and disability inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate and draft project level partner agreements which outline both partner and CARE roles, responsibilities and accountabilities; project details; compliance requirements and required narrative and financial reporting.
• Facilitate the development of partner work plans by project with support from project coordinators, Program Quality Coordinator and Gender and Inclusion Senior Adviser.
• Facilitate regular partnership health checks between CARE and partners that track partnership aims and objectives; identify areas of success and ways forward as well as identify areas that require attention. Develop monitoring processes for partnerships and document learning.
• Work with partners to develop and implement Capacity Strengthening plans that are adapted to their context and are gender and disability inclusive, and support partners to complete regular monitoring and tracking of capacity strengthening indicators.
• Manage procurement processes of consultants to support partners with the implementation of specific activities under the portfolio alongside the Manager and relevant project coordinator.
• Support partners to plan for and respond to natural disasters and undertake humanitarian programming as required, including supporting annual Emergency Preparedness Planning; development and / or updating of safety & security management plans; and implementing Rapid Gender, Disability and Inclusion Analyses processes with partners, alongside the relevant project leads.
• Represent the CARE in the Pacific team in CA and CI discussions on partnership models, approaches and tools in liaison with the Pacific Program Manager, Pacific Finance and Grants Coordinator, Gender and Inclusion Senior Advisor and implementing partners, referring to existing and planned CARE and sector wide partnership research.
• Support the CitP team and partners on project delivery and related tasks across the regional portfolio as needed or directed by the Manager.

Ideally you will have:

• 3-5 years’ experience working in the humanitarian sector and/or international or community development with a focus on working with local partners, project operations, MEAL and programme quality, experience in the Pacific is highly desirable;
• Demonstrated experience working alongside local civil-society organisations, preferably in in the Pacific, to support project implementation;
• Demonstrated experience implementing gender, disability and inclusion integration across project implementation;
• Strong communication skills in cross-cultural environments, including the ability to speak and write effectively in English, with demonstrated experience preparing quality reports for donors;
• Strong time management skills with the ability to work with limited supervision and remotely, and a consultative approach that is open to feedback;
• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience; and
• An understanding of CARE’s vision, mission and values, and a commitment to uphold the CARE Australia Child Protection Code of Conduct and Preventing Sexual Harassment, Exploitation and Abuse policy for the duration of the assignment.
