The Elevator Pitch

DG seeks an experienced Grant Writer to help our Engagement & Partnerships team with a growing portfolio of proposals that support our mission-aligned operations and technical projects. As a Grant Writer, you will be responsible for writing narratives for proposals to a range of public procurement processes and private foundations. In this role, you will work closely with DG’s Director of Engagement & Partnerships to develop high-quality program narratives and coordinate with the larger DG team to coordinate budgets and corresponding narratives.

Your Background & Skills

  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience including grant proposal development for donor funded initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience designing and writing winning proposals for donor funded projects, a preference for a positive track record designing and drafting proposals in response to US government-funded program solicitations
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to follow complex sets of instructions to ensure grant compliance
  • Ability to use a variety of federal, international, and foundation online application systems for the submission of grant applications.
  • Positive approach to iterative proposal drafting, able and willing to effectively incorporate varied inputs into proposal drafts while featuring DG’s expertise and global good practices
  • Seasoned team player with a dedication to collaborative program design and proposal development processes that inclusively leverage the expertise and perspectives of DG team members and subcontractors
  • Technical expertise in digital development preferred
  • Ability to manage proposal development efforts and ensure quality and timely submission
  • Ability to build effective consortia and teams for proposals
  • Ability to communicate deadlines and processes effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Fluent, professional, written and spoken English required; French or Spanish a plus

Your Daily Tasks

  • Lead in the preparation of proposals for a variety of funders – tailoring your writing to suit the funder
  • Analyze Requests for Proposals (RFPs), lead meetings with appropriate staff to discuss RFPs and strategize approach
  • Project manage proposals, ensuring that stakeholders have reviewed and provided feedback on proposals in a timely manner, and obtaining final approval reviews.
  • Document processes in pipeline.

For those located within the US, the projected salary for this position is between $65,000 and $75,000 annually, plus benefits.
