New Business Development Assistant At International Medical Corps

JOB SUMMARY

The New Business Development Assistant will support International Medical Corps’ positioning for and pursuit of funding opportunities with new and existing donors in both the private and public sectors. S/he will provide assistance to the New Business and Resource Development teams in their management of new proposals, reporting for ongoing private-donor grants, as well as for administrative research initiatives. S/he will lead special projects to develop new or adapt existing resources and tools as needs are identified.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the NBD team’s efforts to track, manage, and share information about priority donors’ forecasts, trends, regulations, and guidelines
  • Participate in the research and identification of potential partners for proposal consortia as it relates to specific opportunities
  • Maintain administrative and support functions related to proposal development and reporting
  • Support teams in finalizing proposals and reports with detail-oriented copy-editing, condensing/summarizing, and formatting written content
  • Conduct critical review of inputs for proposals and reports, including budgets, timelines and activities for accuracy and consistency
  • Prepare forecasting projections to track potential opportunities;
  • Support team in maintaining up to date insight into donors’ funding priorities and proposal guidelines
  • Update capability statements and/or draft standard program descriptions for outreach purposes
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date files of opportunities pursued including concept notes, proposals, key communication, research and more
  • Support team to develop and strengthen information management strategies and processes
  • Support the team in assessing and analyzing existing program development resources and tools to identify gaps and needs for updating or developing new materials
  • Manage and coordinate special projects that support the NBD and RD departments, ongoing emergency response efforts, and as needed or assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Typically, a Bachelor’s degree in related area. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Experience

  • Typically, One year or more of experience in international program development, project management, non-profit fundraising, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience providing support to project management and/or fundraising teams, managing and producing competitive proposals for non-profit organizations, or similar and transferrable work experience.
  • Experience in international programming focused on health, and/or related humanitarian assistance sectors preferred.
  • Previous program design experience preferred.
  • Familiarity and past experience with a wider public and private non-profit donor landscape preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with international development, humanitarian, or non-profit organizations.
  • Demonstrated skills in coordinating, facilitating, and managing projects.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to coordinate multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, creativity, acute problem solving, and analytical skills;
  • Strong computer skills.
