Grants Finance Officer At Food for the Hungry

Job Summary

The Grant Finance Officer will take the lead in assuring the Accurate planning and reporting of externally funded grants/contracts from inception to closure. This position requires strong demonstrated experience in the areas of Finance and Program -Budgeting as well as a strong knowledge of donor funding mechanisms, requirements and compliance areas; especially USAID contracts/ grant agreements, UKAID/ DFID grants, TAI and UN Agencies. He /She will also ensure that both programming and operations staff improve their understanding of different granting/ contracting mechanisms and build their capacity to adhere to donor regulations related to reporting, invoicing, asset acquisition, management and disposition, procurement, Budget Management, Financial management and analysis, Internal Control Assessment and Capacity Building.

Job Requirements: Education & Experience:

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting or business-related knowledge.
  • CPA (U) or ACCA and CISA qualification are of added advantage
  • Audit experience in non-Governmental organizations a Must.
  • Experience leading or participating in donor financial compliance audits is desired
  • Desirable professional qualification in financial management or audit.
  • Ms. Dynamics System exposure and competence will be an added advantage, or ability to learn quickly.
  • Progressive work experience in relevant fields for at least 5-6 years.
