Job Title: Roving Pharmaceutical Logistics Officer

Job purpose: The Roving Pharma Logistics Officer will support and provide WVSR partner’s technical pharma stock management and ensure effective and efficient pharma stock systems are in place and that minimum standards and best practices are in place including ensuring donor’s regulations are adhered to. The jobholder will be based inside Syria, which is a highly sensitive, fast paced environment, demanding flexibility and accuracy, while in compliance with both organizational and donor regulations.**

Job Responsibilities:**

· Hands-on support to implementing partners in the overall supply chain system of pharmaceuticals management.

· Identifies gaps and facilitates the development of a pharmaceutical management operations systems for effective and efficient pharma stock management.

· Plans and coordinates monthly spot checks on pharma stock warehouses at the partner levels.

· With other technical personnel, participates in conducting quality and quantity control exercises especially during reception of any pharma prior to entering into warehouses.

· Participates and supports in the mandatory bi-annual and annual pharma stock physical verification and counting exercises at partner warehouses.

· Supports in reviewing partner pharma stock distribution plans.

· Ensures rational use of required warehouse forms and templates in pharma stock management and reporting purposes.

· Leads and focuses on pharmaceutical and supplies commodity reporting and provide support through technical assistance in pharma procurement planning, rational drug use, pharma waste and disposal management, drug quality assurance and other related initiatives.

· Assists the Program and Logistics Managers in pharmaceutical and commodity management trainings at the field levels.

· Regularly inspects warehouse items (pharmaceuticals and med commodities) inside warehouse accurate count, storage condition and proper utilization.

· Flags issues and reports to supervisor on pharma stock misuse, loss, damage, near expiry and discrepancy.

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

Required Professional Experience

A minimum of 5 years working experience managing pharmaceutical commodities, stock management warehousing, working and supporting Local National NGOs.

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy and/or Health related (10 years of working experience in Logistics is acceptable to substitute a Degree in Pharmacy).

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:

· Pharmacy Technology online system,

· Excellent Interpersonal and team skills,

· Excellent IT skills (use and application of different packages)

· Ability to analyse and generate timely reports.

· Training skills.

· Ability to write, speak and understand English and Arabic to a proficient level.

· Ability to work as part of a team and/or independently when required.

· Good time management skills

· Flexible and willing to adapt to new systems and applications

Language Requirements: Very good in English (writing & Speaking)
