TERMS OF REFERENCE
UNRWA is a United Nations agency established by the General Assembly in 1949 and is mandated to provide assistance and protection to a population of some 5 million registered Palestine refugees. Its mission is to help Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank and the Gaza Strip to achieve their full potential in human development, pending a just solution to their plight. UNRWA’s services encompass education, health care, relief and social services, camp infrastructure and improvement, microfinance and emergency assistance. UNRWA is the largest UN operation in the Middle East with more than 30,000 staff. UNRWA is funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions.
Consultancy- Software Developer, HQ Amman (Local)
BACKGROUND
The incumbent is responsible to Head, Application Development & Support Section, or to one of the Senior Technical Leads managing software development projects at UNRWA HQ (Amman).
Description of Duties and Responsibilities
· Performs software development and maintenance tasks on applications to which assigned, especially workflow applications using business automation tools.
· Performs analysis tasks assigned by the supervisor for the design, implementation, customization and maintenance of software applications.
· Undertakes technology research and conducts proofs of concepts on selected technologies.
· Documents or assists in the documentation of system technical specifications.
· Provides technical support for training activities related to assigned software applications.
minimum Qualifications and Experience
· A university degree from an accredited educational institution in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.
· 4 years of experience in web applications development using .Net and MS SQL Server.
· Experience in business process automation through the use of business process management tools or low code application platform.
· Good command of spoken and written English.

dESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience in implementing multi-user systems.
· Experience or knowledge of HTML, AJAX, JavaScript, object-oriented analysis and design.
· Experience in MS Azure DevOps
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
· The duration of the consultancy is 11 months with the expected start date of November 2021.
· The consultant will receive monthly fees of JD919.80
· The incumbent will be based in Amman.
