JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced Quality & Compliance Manager to ensure our organization adheres to legal standards and in-house policies. You will be responsible for enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of donor regulations, legal guidelines and internal policies as well as provide guidance on compliance matters.
A great Quality & Compliance Manager is well-versed in legal guidelines and corporate governance best practices. They are professionals of high ethical standards and work diligently to complete their duties keeping in mind the objectives of the organization. You must be comfortable saying “no” when necessary and be result-oriented.
The goal is to preserve the organization’s integrity by making sure it stays on a lawful and ethical course.
RESPONSIBILITY
- Overall management and supervision of quality and compliance departments in WATAN focusing on business process development, internal controls, audit, information Management and dissemination, organization learning, and monitoring and evaluation.
- Ensure our organization adheres to donors’ standards and in-house policies and enforce these regulations in all aspects and levels of donor regulations, legal guidelines and internal policies as well as provide guidance on compliance matters.
- Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of donor regulations, legal guidelines and internal policies
- Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously
- Revise procedures, reports etc. periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues
- Draft, modify and implement company policies
- Collaborate with corporate counsels and HR departments to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations
- Assess the business’s future ventures to identify possible compliance risks
- Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training
- Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate
- Responsible for the development and ongoing maintenance of robust quality management systems ensuring the organization’s statutory duties are fulfilled and exceeded
- Ensure systems and services are monitored and reviewed in order to continually improve quality and outcomes for the beneficiaries
- Ensure action plans, targets and deadlines are issued where gaps are identified through the audit process to ensure compliance
- Provide strategic direction to the team in line with organization-wide strategy and supporting the growth and development of the team and ensure they attend relevant trainings as well as encourage the team to keep abreast with worldwide function specific developments
- Represent the organization on external bodies, at exhibitions and conferences where appropriate, providing feedback and advice to Senior Management on relevant developments.
- Perform any other duties required from time to time that fall within the scope of this job description (but not limited to the job description) as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as Quality & Compliance Manager
- In-depth knowledge of the Non-profit organizations’ standards and regulations
- Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping
- A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality
- Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities
- An analytical mind able to “see” the complexities of procedures and regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- BSc/BA in law, finance, business administration or related field
- Certified compliance professional is a plus
- Experience in a development programme / donor setting
- Knowledge of grants management (or equivalent) systems and processes.
- Experience within internal audit
