Contract: 1 year fixed-term

Oxfam International is unable to guarantee the obtaining of a work permit for the role. Candidates must have and be able to retain the legal right to work in the location of the post. We are not able to support the relocation of a candidate to take up the position in an Oxfam location.

The Role

Oxfam International is looking for a Global Safeguarding Lead to help deliver Oxfam’s strategy and program to protect those we work with and for from SEAH perpetrated by Oxfam representatives. This role will focus on the provision and /or coordination of expert technical advice on safeguarding across the confederation; building capacity, overall coordination of policies and procedures related to safeguarding, and, when required, undertaking investigations. The post holder will provide advice and support case management to the Oxfam International Secretariat and Oxfam affiliates, when needed and agreed by the Director Safeguarding.

Who we’re looking for

A post-graduate in social work, international development or similar, having worked within an international context. The person must have demonstrated safeguarding (SG) experience in :

1. working with children and adults who have witnessed or experienced SEAH
2. providing SG technical advice, both generally and on specific cases
3. conducting awareness raising and training
4. developing strategies, policies and procedures
5. conducting/coordinating SG investigations
6. supervising staff remotely

Fluency in Arabic, French or Spanish is desirable.
