Job Title: Country Director Islamic Help Turkey

Islamic Help is a newly-registered (in Turkey) non-profit organisation which aims to invest in real effective solutions to strengthen humanity’s struggle against poverty, social injustice and natural disaster
Role summary
In order to develop our long term strategy & achieve our objectives, Islamic Help Turkey is looking to recruit a Country Director to supervise and control all strategic and operational aspects of Islamic Help Turkey and be responsible for its administration and financial management. Working closely with the Board of Trustees you will create a vision for success with direct support from all employees.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & planning
- To work constructively with the Trustees to ensure that all aspects of the organisation are well run at a strategic and operational level
- To lead in the creation and execution of a three-year strategy and budget
- Leadership of local team, providing strategic direction, management and development of all staff
- To attend quarterly Trustee meetings and write Trustee reports
Management / Organisation
- To be responsible for the management of Islamic Help Turkey to ensure it is well-run and sustainable
- To ensure that the organisation is financially well administered and accurate monthly accounts are produced and sent to the Trustees
- To oversee all staff recruitment (with the support of the Trustees)
- To ensure all staff are well-supported and provided with the relevant training and development they need to perform their jobs successfully
- To ensure compliance with the law (charity, employment etc.)
- To update and implement the charity’s risk management plan
- To formulate policies and working practices (with staff and Trustees) and ensure they are implemented
Brand Development and Growth
- To ensure all Islamic Help audiences receive the best impression at every point
- Act as Islamic Help brand guardian, reviewing and maintaining brand guidelines and empowering all staff to embrace them
- Lead the team to produce, commission, publish and promote compelling and engaging content across all marketing channels and platforms
- Lead the team to build, plan and implement an overall digital marketing strategy, and oversee and manage all digital marketing activities
- Actively recruit volunteers. Including publicising roles, selecting, interviewing and collecting references for candidates, DBS checks (or equivalent), inductions and training.
- Build partnerships with local mosques, organisations and universities to ensure steady flow of volunteers.
External Relations
- To develop and sustain relationships with key individuals in the private, public, faith and voluntary sectors, with a view to working in partnership with them for the benefit of vulnerable people
- To build relationships with, and seek to inspire institutions and individuals leading them to provide practical and financial support to achieve Islamic Help Turkey objectives
- To manage the PR of the organisation and to be its principal voice.
Income Generation/Fundraising
- Seek, explore and action all income and fundraising opportunities
- To produce and oversee marketing material, both print and electronic, including website, e-newsletters and social media
- To liaise with the fundraising team to ensure that they have the information, tools and resources needed to successfully raise the charity’s budgeted income
- To lead the development of a CRM database to aid in the fundraising process.
- To oversee the running of one-off and seasonal campaigns such as the Ramadhan Campaign
- With the team, organise and co-ordinate events and campaigns to sustainably increase the income of Islamic Help Turkey
- Actively recruit volunteers. Including publicising roles, selecting, interviewing and collecting references for candidates, DBS (or equivalent security) checks, inductions and training.
- With the team, provide facilitation to the volunteers to organise events and campaigns to support Islamic Help causes.
Projects/Programmes delivery
- To work strategically and operationally to ensure the organisation delivers its humanitarian and development assistance operations effectively and transparently for the benefit of the poor and marginalised
- To keep up-to-date with legislation, best practice and policy related to humanitarian and development assistance operations
- To be sympathetic to the Muslim values that inspire our aims while ensuring the benefits of its work are open to all.
General Responsibilities
This role profile is not exhaustive and is subject to review in conjunction with the post holder and according to future changes/developments in the service. All job descriptions are non-contractual and give a sense of the broad scope of the role and so include a level of flexibility. Person Specification
Essential
- A proven ability to lead the team, providing strategic direction, management and development of all staff
- Considerable experience of developing and leading multi-disciplinary fundraising from companies, trusts and foundations and general public
- Experience of developing stewardship strategies to engage and inform donors
- Highly developed competence in working cross-functionally to ensure the audiences receive the best service and impression of the organization at every point
- Experience of managing and developing a CRM database to aid in the fundraising process.

- Willingness and ability to travel, nationally and international when required
- Sympathetic to Muslim values and compassion for all
