The HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT performs administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the Save the Children’s Manila IT Hub and the Save the Children Philippines.
S/He is primarily responsible for sourcing, screening and recommending candidates for Manila IT Hub positions as well as onboarding new hires. He or she will identify opportunities to build applicant pools, establish trust and partnerships with the managers, identify potential “fit” through effective interviewing, effectively administer the interviewing and onboarding process, and ensure a positive new hire experience.
S/He provides clerical support to the HR Unit of Save the Children Philippines.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Consult with leaders, hiring managers and human resources team on position descriptions, requisition creation, compensation and sourcing strategies
- Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting
- Continuously develop networks/partnerships to actively build database/pipeline of candidates
- Recruit and perform talent acquisition activities such as resume & phone screens, candidate interviews, background checks, recommend final selection of applicants and close qualified candidates
- Provides clerical support to the HR Unit.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management
- May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing payslips
- Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers (Intellicare, Jeonsoft, SSS, EC, Philhealth, Pag-Ibig Fund, life insurance etc)
- Conducts or assists with new hire orientation
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
- Maintains compliance with government and labor laws and regulations, and recommended HR best practices
- Performs other HR duties as assigned by HR manager
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Oracle, and/or other HR related software
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), application tracking system, and similar computer applications.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required.
- At least 2 years’ experience in human resources functions preferred
