Overview: DT Global is currently partnered with Proximity International to implement Building Resilient and Inclusive Communities in Conflict (BRICC). The program aims to advance the BRICC Resilience Objective (RO) of fostering resilience and stability in conflict- affected communities across Syria to prevent the re-emergence of extremist groups such as ISIS; countering the influence of malign actors such as Iran; empowering communities to negotiate a peaceful resolution to the conflict; and paving the way for safe, dignified, and voluntary return of internally displaced persons and refugees. The Syria Livelihoods TO will advance the RO by delivering services to achieve the BRICC IDIQ Intermediate Result (IR) 3: Livelihoods restored and local economies revived. The program is seeking to hire a Grants Officer to support in implementing the program’s objectives.

The Grants Officer, working closely with the Syria Livelihood Program’s (SLP’s) Grants team based in Amman, Jordan, will assist the Grants Director and Activity Managers in the development and implementation of the project’s grant activities, providing logistical support, working with the SLP technical team and SLP staff in Syria to monitor all aspects of grant implementation and compliance. The Grants Officer reports to the Activity Manager.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Through discussions with SLP stakeholders, including local authorities, civil society and the private sector, support grant design and development in collaboration with the Grants Director and Activity Managers;
  • Contribute to and provide on-the-ground support when required to activity implementation and coordination in project communities;
  • Closely coordinate project implementation with SLP Field Coordinators, Monitoring and Evaluation Officers and Capacity Building Officers;
  • Contribute to reports and analysis of operating environment as requested by the Chief of Party or her Designee;
  • Participate in regular monitoring visits to SLP activities in project areas and provide regular monitoring reports to Activity Managers;
  • Liaise with local authorities, civil society, and private sector actors in the SLP communities;
  • Mobilize and coordinate meetings with SLP stakeholders;
  • Compile and collect supporting documentation and information for active grants and pending activities;
  • Supporting Activity Managers in negotiations and discussions with prospective grantees on activity and budget development;
  • Conduct market research where required to verify service providers, vendors, prices and availability of goods and services;
  • Source references for SLP partners including civil society and private sector actors in project communities;
  • Act as SLP grants focal point for grant participants, grantees, and community-based stakeholders; and,
  • Other duties as requested by the Chief of Party.

Education and Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year of experience working on a donor funded development project
  • Experience with activity design, monitoring and implementation
