The Role
As an integral part of Room to Read’s APAC development team, this role will manage the Asia Pacific team responsible for fundraising from Individuals, Family Foundations, as well as Corporations and Foundations, across Hong Kong, Australia, Japan and Singapore. The Development Director, APAC is also responsible for collaborating closely with the Global Partnerships and Marketing/Communications team to support strategy for Planned Giving, Chapter Networks and Annual Fund activities that impact fundraising.
Reporting to the Vice President internationally, you will utilise sound fundraising, marketing and communication principles to oversee and grow current annual revenue goals and inspire and lead a high-performing team.
Skills Required
You currently hold a leadership role in an NGO, NFP, philanthropy, education or like-minded organization and you have excellent written and spoken communications skills in English. You have a proven track record in ‘making the ask’ in the APAC charitable giving environment and securing five to seven figure major gifts, sponsorships, grants or quality sales. You have demonstrated success leading regional teams to do the same.
The key to your success in this role will be your;
- Experience planning, executing and leading major gift activities, ideally regionally
- Expertise cultivating UHNW/ HNW donors and family foundations
- Your individual ability to raise USD 2.5MM annually
- High emotional intelligence with a genuine style that engages and inspires a range of people
- Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach and the ability to deliver
- Understanding and experience in running signature events
