Network Finance Manager At Finn Church Aid

FCA is seeking a Network Finance Manager to work as part of the Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers team in Helsinki. The manager provides finance leadership and manages and ensures timely and effective financial and administrative operations of the Network Secretariat. The Network Finance Manager is the focal point for finance issues within the Network Secretariat.

Main areas of responsibility include:

  • Manage Network Secretariat financial planning, budgeting, and monitoring i.e. following expenditures, drafting and updating budgets, getting approval for budget revisions.
  • Manage Network financial reporting and contribute to donor compliance together with partnership building manager and FCA Global Grants
  • Liaise with FCA controller, finance department and Global Grants
  • Lead Network finance functions globally, liaise with FCA Thailand and FCA Americas (New York and Washington DC Offices) on finance, liaise with FCA Country Offices on joint projects
  • Complete accurately and timely all financial accounting routines and reports.
  • Implement internal controls.
  • Plan and monitor overall budget, including NETW HR Salary allocation (monthly report, timesheets supervision), as guided by SOPM, and in collaboration with FOSD and AD.
  • Prepare accurate forecasts of cash requirements (Cost recovery report for proposal, CR calculation).
  • Carefully track and report project expenses, burn rates, and cash received from the donor on a monthly basis. Alert finance and program supervisors when there is any financial risks for projects.
  • Lead Network audits and assist country offices in responding to audit requests from donors, developing financial management tools, and managing close-out processes. To prepare necessary materials for audit (e.g. financial report, agreements and project documents) in collaboration with programme staff and FCA controller
  • Perform project variance analysis and provide updated projections to support internal management and/or donor requirements.
  • Working closely with the program teams and Finance team, reviewing and preparing annual workplan budgets preparation of budget narratives, invoices and other financial reports to donors; thorough tracking and analysis of program expenditures.
  • to carry out daily financial and administrative tasks including facilitation of payments and receivables, invoices and tendering/procurement

Competence, experience, skills, knowledge needed

  • Bachelor degree or higher – in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or Accounting
  • At least five years of professionally relevant experience
  • Fluent in oral and written English, working knowledge of Finnish, French, Arabic is an asset.

The position is permanent, with six months’ probation period, starting as soon as possible. The compensation is based on FCA Compensation System and depends on prior work experience.
