Starting Date & Initial Contract Details
For each staff member up to six coaching sessions over a period of eight months between March and September 2022. A consultant will likely work with two or three individuals. A total of six Medair Yemen staff will be enrolled in the programme.
Purpose of Consultancy
As part of Medair Yemen’s leadership and personal development plans, it has been identified that coaching would be beneficial to support the development of key staff to increase their effectiveness and efficiency in their work and leadership. Medair would like to identify and hire coaches to pair with and support identified staff members.
Skills and Experience Required
- Either a recognised qualification in mentoring/coaching or proven experience in capacity development through one-on-one coaching.
- Experience in the relief and/or development sector/charity sector or business with transferable experience (open to humanitarian/development response or support functions).
- Fluent in English and/or Arabic.
- Passion for developing people.
- Good interpersonal skills.

Identify individual’s key areas for discussion and development, with reference to their personal development plan and key role duties.

Outline plans for discussions.

Agree a schedule of coaching sessions.
Outcome
Provisional timetable of sessions with flexibility to adapt to changing commitments. Ideally one-hour meeting per week for six weeks depending on availability.

Conduct up to six one-hour coaching sessions per person.

Content based on identified needs/interests of staff members. Areas of development include, but are not limited to, leadership, project management, self- awareness, strengths and weaknesses, personal development plans, etc.

Reflect on individual topics discussed and points for further reflection. Prepare and present a report on the individual including actions points.
