The Program
The Laos Australia Institute is the Australian Government’s leading program for scholarships and training, as well as a source of technical advice and support to the public and private sectors
The Position
The ESP Program Adviser will be primarily responsible for leading design of a suite of English learning activities that are complementary to, supportive of, and integrated with LAI’s Human Resource Development and Mekong-Australia Partnership programs.
The Person
The ideal candidate will be a TESOL, ESP or HRD professional with a TESOL relevant tertiary qualification and have demonstrated practical experience designing strategic ESP and HRD interventions in an international development context. You will have a strong contemporary understanding of gender equality; equity of access for people with disability; provincial and ethnic minority people; women’s empowerment and professional participation; disability and social inclusion; and professional and applied learning.
Along with effective interpersonal and communication skills, you will display self-motivation and the ability to produce high quality products to a firm deadline. Together with your excellent English proficiency (written and spoken), you will display strong problem-solving and collaboration skills along with a team-player approach.
The Deliverables
- A strategic design document to guide LAI’s English language interventions
- 4-6 Course Overview documents for use in tendering processes
