Senior Project Manager (Accountability to Affected Populations / Communication & Community Engagement) at BBC Media Action

BBC Media Action is the BBC’s international development charity. BBC Media Action in Bangladesh uses media and communications to improve family health, enable people to hold their leaders to account and help people improve their economic security and preparedness for disaster. We support humanitarian agencies and actors to improve the way communications is used in disasters and humanitarian crisis all over the country, including the Rohingya response in Cox’s Bazar. We are currently focusing on providing strategic leadership and guidance to humanitarian actors in the Rohingya response, aiming to improve overall accountability to affected populations and community engagement (AAP/CE) across the response.

The postholder will be responsible for coordinating BBC Media Action’s AAP/CE activities in Cox’s Bazar as part of the Rohingya response. The role will involve significant coordination with NGO and UN actors working on the humanitarian response in Bangladesh including representation of BBC Media Action within relevant clusters/sectors and multi-agency working groups. S/he will represent BBC Media Action in relevant coordination fora, providing leadership and technical support for the integration of AAP/CE approaches across humanitarian operations. The postholder will be responsible for financial and narrative reporting internally and to donors. S/he will play a role in humanitarian focused business development.

The position is fixed term for 9 months with a proposed start date of April 2022.
