Rice and Private Sector Advisor

The Role
The Rice and PS Advisor will assist Oxfam’s program implementation commitments to donors and partners by leading on programmatic priorities, partnerships, knowledge and learning and influencing, with key areas of work including rice leadership, engagement with SRP and improving and supporting private sector engagement in priority countries.
The role works across the five countries in GRAISEA (where relevant) as well as at regional level with multi-country and/or regional partners and ASEAN institutions (where relevant).
The role will be a member of the GRAISEA 2 team. S/he will support Oxfam Indonesia to develop and implement its overall private sector engagement strategy and support three rice country leads in the implementation of the rice component of the GRAISEA program.
What we are looking for
The Rice and PS Advisor will be an experienced, dedicated, and highly motivated professional, with a strong commitment to Oxfam’s values and beliefs with the following qualification and competencies:
- At least a Bachelor Degree in Business, Marine Science, Environmental Studies, International Relation; or related field
- Significant experience in international development work in agriculture, including preferably shrimp and the rice sector
- Experience working in agriculture in South East Asia, in particular Indonesia, Cambodia and Vietnam
- Has working knowledge about responsible business, gender, women economic empowerment and climate change, and their relation to the rice and shrimp sectors
- Has an established network of contacts with corporates, private sector groups and social enterprises to draw upon.
- Experience working with producer groups, SMEs and larger businesses in agriculture
- Experience working with MSIs (multi-stakeholder initiatives) in the agricultural sector
- Experience carrying out government focused advocacy in agriculture
- Good communication, networking, influencing and relationship management skills – ability to generate cooperation between different functions and stakeholders to achieve objectives
