Chief of Party, USDA Food for Progress At World Vision

As the Chief of Party, USDA Food for Progress in Angola, you will:

  • Direct and oversee the Food for Education (FFE) and Child Nutrition program, ensuring that all program strategic objectives are met through proper detailed component planning, staffing, and results-driven implementation.
  • Manage program budget within approved spending levels and ensure accurate and timely financial reports to donors and World Vision US International Programs Group (IPG) headquarters staff.
  • Identify and promote clear communication on issues of budget management and programmatic activities, compliance, and documentation
  • Coordinate with other World Vision and/or USG funded in-country program and partners to ensure enhanced integration and synergies
  • Lead the overall commodity management of the program, including monetization
  • Establish and maintain effective project communication systems and knowledge management including reporting, assessment, and evaluation

Requirements include:

  • Master’s degree in development studies, international relations, agriculture, nutrition, public health, business administration or related field or equivalent qualifications in grant management and work history in developing countries
  • Minimum of 7 years of overseas senior management experience, preferably in leading/administering USDA and/or USAID program, with at least 3 years of experience overseeing USG Title II food aid programs
  • Experience as a COP/ Project Director or Senior Technical Advisor is required
  • Experienced in school feeding, nutrition, and literacy programming
  • Experienced in leading and managing large grants in a complex/ fragile environment
  • Experienced in representing a large grant to USDA and/ or USAID, host governments, UN and other organizations, and like-minded bodies.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese
  • Be prepared to travel to implementation sites and regional, global meetings as required
