Ukraine Crisis Response (UCR) – Senior Advisor Child Protection in Humanitarian Action At World Vision

The escalation of conflict in Ukraine has forced more than 5 million people – mostly women and children – to flee to neighbouring countries. With the escalating crisis, the needs are growing by the hour. More than half of Ukraine’s children have either fled for safety within the country or are living as refugees.

Since the conflict started, our teams have been on the ground assessing and responding to the urgent needs of those searching for safety. We are currently scaling up our multi-country response across three countries (Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine) and are recruiting for many key positions that will make a direct impact on the lives of people who have been caught up in conflict.

Here’s where you come in:

As the Senior Advisor, Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPHA), you will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation and monitoring of child protection programs within the refugee response in Ukraine, Moldova and Romania.

The successful candidate needs to have profound knowledge of child protection mainstreaming in other sectors, such as CCCM, as well as integrated programs. One of the main tasks is to build capacities of partners and new staff on child protection approaches in collaboration with the Education, MHPSS and Safeguarding advisors.

Requirements Include:

  • Minimum 7 years of working experience as a child protection advisor in humanitarian contexts
  • Master’s degree in social science, social work, humanitarian protection or any other relevant degree
  • European or international driving license
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Frequent travels between Romania and Moldova
  • Strong skills in oral and written English. Romanian, Ukrainian or Russian is an advantage
