STOOS Consulting is seeking qualified and motivated Field Researchers/Enumerators to support upcoming research and evaluation assignments in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza Strip. These assignments will contribute to evidence-based programming in areas such as health, gender equality, livelihoods, youth empowerment, education, and protection, in collaboration with leading international and local development partners.
🔹 Position: Field Researcher/Enumerator
Location: Multiple governorates across Palestine, including Gaza
Type: Short-term consultancy (project-based)
Start Date: July 2025 (tentative)
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct household surveys, key informant interviews (KIIs), and focus group discussions (FGDs) using digital or paper-based tools
- Ensure adherence to ethical data collection standards, including informed consent and confidentiality protocols
- Coordinate with team leaders and supervisors to ensure timely and high-quality data collection
- Document field-level observations that contribute to the contextual understanding of project areas
- Participate in training sessions prior to data collection and in daily debriefings during fieldwork
🔹 Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in field research, enumerator work, or data collection in humanitarian or development settings
- Familiarity with research methodologies including quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews
- Proficiency in Arabic (spoken and written); English is an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact respectfully with diverse communities, including women, youth, and vulnerable groups
- Candidates from target areas including Gaza are highly encouraged to apply
- Willingness to travel within assigned areas and work under tight deadlines
🔹 Preferred:
- Experience with digital data collection platforms such as KoboToolbox, SurveyCTO, or ODK
- Background in social sciences, public health, education, or humanitarian studies
- Understanding of local socio-political dynamics in Gaza and the West Bank

🔹 Tasks and responsibilities:
- Conduct household surveys, key informant interviews (KIIs), and focus group discussions (FGDs) using digital or paper tools.
- Ensure adherence to ethical standards for data collection , including obtaining informed consent and maintaining the confidentiality of information.
- Coordinate with team supervisors to ensure high-quality and timely data collection.
- Document field observations and contexts to enhance understanding of the local context.
- Participate in training sessions prior to field work and daily meetings during implementation.
🔹 Required qualifications:
- Proven previous experience in field research or data collection in humanitarian or development contexts
- Good knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Proficiency in spoken and written Arabic ; English is an added advantage
- High communication skills and the ability to deal respectfully with all community groups, including women, youth, and people from marginalized groups
- Applications are strongly encouraged from applicants in the Gaza Strip and other targeted areas.
- Willingness to move around and work in different areas under pressure

- Academic background in social sciences, public health, education, or development studies
- Good understanding of the local social and political context in the West Bank and Gaza Strip
