Locations of assignment: Adamaoua or North region (the exact location will be specified later)
Position status: National Position
Type and duration of contract: 12-month fixed-term contract, renewable with a trial period
Reporting line: Base manager

Salary: Competitive (which will be communicated at the interview)
Functions and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of a conflict map;
- Facilitate focus groups to identify the needs, wishes and fears of target beneficiary groups, some of whose members currently live beyond the country’s borders.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection consultations on social cohesion and conflict analysis;
- Contribute to building networks of key actors across the country and beyond, ensuring the participation in the peace process of those who might otherwise boycott or attempt to obstruct it.
- Collaborate with colleagues and members of advisory groups on the CAR and Chad sides for effective cross-border work;
- Contribute to the development of conflict analysis in intervention areas,
- Write activity reports and other notes on training, meetings and any other activities carried out within the framework of the program and submit them for review by the base chief;
- Facilitate community dialogues, mediation, training, coaching and support for members of Advisory Groups;
- Facilitate training on mechanisms for peaceful conflict resolution;
- Assist in the design of future projects;
- Contribute to the organization of cross-border meetings;
- Understand and comply with local and international security policy, guidelines and best practices.
- Report to the appropriate authority any information on the security context or any contextual or other event, having a possible impact on the activities of Concordis International and the safety of the teams.
- Translate during individual interviews, focus groups, workshops or other activities between different local languages and French.
- Perform other duties as assigned by his/her supervisor within the program.
Qualifications and skills required:
Essentials:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, International Relations; Development, Conflict Resolution, or a related field;
- Practical and in-depth knowledge of the regions of Mayo-Rey, Faro, Bénoue, Mbéré, Djérem, Vina, Faro-et-Déo and more generally the tri-border area Cameroon/Chad/CAR; demonstrating an ability to create a network and an in-depth knowledge of the ethnic realities of these regions of northeastern Cameroon
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the humanitarian field and/or in local development and/or conflict resolution and peacebuilding, particularly within the country;
- Personal effectiveness, organizational capacity and flexibility in difficult circumstances;
- Ability to engage, communicate and negotiate with authorities and communities under difficult conditions in an open, transparent and constructive manner;
- Willingness to work in a multicultural team in a demanding environment;
- Perfect mastery of French, and preferably of Peuhl/Fulfulde, Mboum, or other dialects with a high prevalence in this tri-border region,
- Be sensitive to cultural diversity and have the ability to respond tactfully and diplomatically to cultural questions and those relating to political realities;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software;
- Commitment to the mission, principles and values of Concordis; especially adhering to neutrality and impartiality in peacebuilding work.
Desired:

- Be available and flexible,
- Mastery of the Fulfulde, Mboum and other local dialects is an asset
- Experience and knowledge on the subject of transhumance
- Proficiency in data collection tools on mobile phones or tablets
- Positive attitude towards the tasks and challenges of the context.
