  • Contract: Permanent contract, Part time (20 hours per week, 4 on Saturdays and the other 16 can be discussed to plan monday to friday) , with all legal benefits.

In Lucero Bajo, We operate the Still I Rise International School of Bogotá, Colombia. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, deliver and facilitate dynamic, active, and creative English Language lessons on a weekly basis, for diverse classes of students aged 10-15. Create enhanced opportunities for real-life applications of concepts using available resources and project based learning.
  • Assume the leadership role or contribute to other teachers with coordination roles in various cross-school activities.
  • Review and monitor the progress of all students and identify their individual learning needs. Differentiate instruction to meet students’ needs, providing extra support to students who are below grade level.
  • Sensitively and appropriately provide care to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Handle urgent situations with consummate professionalism and in accordance with our Discipline Policy and Safeguarding Policy, utilizing the school’s support network as necessary liaising with School Counsellor and Child Protection & Safeguarding Team.
  • Conduct regular formative and summative assessments, recording and reporting grades and performance.
  • Attend and participate in regular professional development activities.
  • Help our school excel with your participation and leadership in community engagement, competitions, school trips and other activities, contributing to the development and leadership of our extracurricular programmes.
  • Under the supervision of the Head of Teaching and Learning, provide feedback on quality and wellbeing to ensure programmes are designed, implemented, monitored, and evaluated to maximize positive impact on vulnerable children.
  • Train and lead our futsal team, which practices on Saturdays, both male and female, and involve the team in inter-school and community competitionsESSENTIAL CRITERIA
  • Experience in teaching, preferably the International Baccalaureate curriculum will be considered an added advantage; alternatively, ability to demonstrate the “IB Profile” attributes

  • Bachelors in Education or equivalent ENGLISH Teaching experience
  • Full professional proficiency in English Language, both verbal and written
  • Completion of DBS/CRB/Background check/certificate of good conduct;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills;
  • Ability to mentor students on a daily basis;
  • Commitment and willingness to work in a challenging and fast changing environment;
  • Curiosity, ambition, willingness to create and experiment new teaching techniques;
  • Determined team player.

  • Coach and lead our indoor soccer team, both boys and girls, which practices on Saturdays, and involve the team in interschool and community competitions.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Teaching experience, preferably within the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum; alternatively, the ability to demonstrate the attributes of the IB Profile [ https://www.ibo.org/benefits/learner-profile/ ], particularly being “bold-thinking,” “open-minded,” and “reflective.”
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent in English language teaching experience
  • Academic or professional certificates.
  • Complete professional command of English, both spoken and written.
  • Complete a background check/certificate of good conduct.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to guide students on a daily basis.
  • Commitment and willingness to work in a challenging and constantly changing environment.
  • Curiosity, ambition, and a willingness to create and experiment with new teaching techniques.
  • Player of a specific team.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

  • Experience teaching students with low academic performance.
  • Experience working with migrants and vulnerable populations.
