Program / Department Summary
The People and Strategy Team ensures that Mercy Corps has the people, strategies, and learning that will enable it to be a world-class, cutting edge, humanitarian organization, creating transformational change in the world. We do this through the recruitment, retention, and development of the best global talent. We aim to drive strategic thinking and planning at all levels of the organization; create a robust body of research to guide us internally and externally and steward the organizational culture. General Position Summary
The position will be a key member of the People Systems and Analytics team responsible for requirement gathering, analysis, functional design, system configuration, user testing, deployment, and authoring of standard operating procedures. Priorities will mostly lie within the Mercy Corps’ HCM solution, though supporting interfaces, partner systems, and reporting are also within scope. The position will triage issues, defects, and requests for prompt action. Customer service is paramount to the role and requires impeccable interpersonal skills.
Essential Job Responsibilities
SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION
- Engage stakeholders to capture process/system needs through user stories, process flows, requirement lists, etc.
- Analyze requirements and work with the People Team, subject matter experts, and system vendors to produce and implement process/system designs.
- Configure, test, and deploy system functionality based on approved designs in collaboration with partner systems admins, SMEs, and IT
- Coordinate and drive completion of functional requirements including but not limited to interfaces and custom builds.
- Author and maintain HCM data dictionary, operating procedures, and user guides.
- Support data conversion (extraction, transformation, load, validation)
- Support engagement, communications, and training efforts
PRODUCTION SUPPORT
- Manage production support process and resolve issues within service level agreements.
- Triage reported incidents and functional requests.
- Analyze system and process-related issues
- Coordinate resolution of system issues and new requests with HCM Core Team, IT, vendors, and all stakeholders.
- Provide minor system support.
SECURITY
- Ensure compliance with security procedures and policies as determined by IT and operational leadership.
- Proactively ensure that team members operate in a secure environment and are aware of policies.

Accountability to Participants and Stakeholders Mercy Corps team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to our program participants, community partners, other stakeholders, and to international standards guiding international relief and development work. We are committed to actively engaging communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of our field projects.
Knowledge and Experience
- 2 – 3 years of experience in process analysis and/or systems implementation in an analyst role
- 1 – 2 years of experience in system administration and or system production support
- BA/BS in Information Systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Requires understanding of cloud-based applications, data governance, and BI.
- Requires ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users.
- Experience in UKG Pro, Informatica, or Cognos BI preferred.
- Experience with an HR, recruiting, or Learning Management system is a plus.
- English fluency required; proficiency in Spanish preferred.
- Demonstrated history of providing excellent customer service and a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to follow procedures, complete tasks with high-quality outputs, meets deadlines, and work cooperatively with team members.
- Must have strong analytical, and problem-solving skills, effective organizational and interpersonal skills; strong written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in SQL, C#, or JavaScript is a plus

Living Conditions / Environmental Conditions
The position is based in Colombia and it requires up to 10% travel to support country programs, which may include travel to insecure locations where freedom of movement is limited and areas where amenities are limited.
