Context:
Established in 1951, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is a United Nations Related Organization and, as the lead UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental, and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

Under the supervision of the head of mission and the direct supervision of the territorial liaison in the sub-office, and in coordination with the Information Management, Monitoring, and Evaluation (M&E) units, the official’s primary responsibilities will be to assist the mission in implementing IOM policies and guidelines on Information Management and M&E in accordance with the Project Manual, the Monitoring Policy, the Evaluation Policy, and other applicable standards within the Organization as part of the United Nations; and to support the implementation of field activities.

Category A Consultants: Tasks to be performed under this contract.
- Support in the planning, coordination and implementation of project monitoring activities and tasks during its execution;
- Implement surveys, questionnaires, and other data collection tools, ensuring confidentiality and informed consent of participants.
- Produce qualitative reports through relevant field observations that complement the numerical data.
- Participate in training and calibration sessions to ensure consistent understanding of data collection tools and methodologies.
- Collect data from the community, selected strategic points, and validate data collected by other counterparts to ensure their quality through different means and in different formats (including Excel and KoboCollect);
- Conduct periodic monitoring of all counterparts responsible for data collection according to each project’s monitoring plans: ensure information is submitted according to the agreed-upon dates and the completion of established data collection forms.
- Support the implementation of satisfaction surveys, midterm and final evaluations within the framework of implemented activities.
- Perform other tasks related to data analysis and information production assigned by direct supervision.
Required training, experience, or skills:
Academic qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Political or Social Sciences, Sociology, or a related field with quantitative background, from an accredited academic institution with 1 year of relevant professional experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of demonstrable experience in topics related to the position.
Experience:
• Experience in project implementation and management;
• Experience with data collection and visualization tools;
• Experience with the logical framework approach and other strategic planning approaches, monitoring and evaluation methods and approaches (including quantitative, qualitative, and participatory), planning and implementing M&E systems;
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in dynamic and demanding environments.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish, both spoken and written, with the ability to develop technical products and participate in international technical discussions.
Travel: If required
