Fixed-term contract | 4 to 6 months | ASAP

Acted

For 30 years, Acted has been working at the first mile of humanitarian action to save lives. Acted supports more than 27 million people in 43 countries, responding to their needs in hard-to-reach areas, while pursuing a triple mandate as a humanitarian, environmental, and development actor. Acted draws on a deep understanding of local contexts to develop and implement long-term actions, in collaboration with a wide range of local and international partners, to collectively build a 3ZERO world: Zero Exclusion, Zero Carbon, and Zero Poverty.

Acted Tchad

Present in Chad since 2024, Acted works to support vulnerable populations in the Lac and Ouaddai Provinces, and in N’Djamena. In 2024, the organization implemented 11 projects with a budget of €8 million. Its operations are coordinated from N’Djamena and implemented through three field bases in Bol and Daboua in Lac, and Adré in Ouaddai.

In Lac, Acted supports internally displaced people following attacks by armed groups through the RRM mechanism, of which it is co-lead, and provides assistance in food security and support for site coordination and management (CCCM). It also helps strengthen the resilience of populations through education, water, hygiene, sanitation, and livelihood projects.

In Ouaddai, Acted redeployed in April 2023 to respond to the unprecedented influx of Sudanese refugees and Chadian returnees fleeing the fighting in Sudan. Through a multi-sectoral emergency approach in shelter/AME, CCCM, and protection, Acted is meeting the vital needs of displaced people in informal settlements and reception camps.

Finally, Acted regularly intervenes in response to cyclical shocks, such as lean seasons and floods, which are particularly devastating.

Acted’s actions in Chad are based on recognized multi-sectoral technical expertise, rapid deployment capacity, a data-driven approach, strong local acceptance, and increased community participation.
