Consultancy for a Research on Exploring the Intersection of Migration, Disability, and Discrimination Among Children and Youth in East Asia At World Vision
To conduct qualitative research on the lived experiences of children/youth with disabilities and/or families with disabilities in East Asia, focusing on how the intersection of climate change and migration shape their vulnerabilities and resilience.
Analyze how intersecting identities (e.g., gender, ethnicity, migration status) influence access to government services and inclusion.
Identify community-based and policy-level interventions that promote resilience, inclusion, and equity for children/youth with disabilities affected by migration.
Lead the research and stakeholder engagement process, and deliver the following outputs:
Inception Report
Develop a suggested research design, including methodology, respondent criteria, and stakeholder mapping.
Research Brief
Produce a concise, evidence-based summary of key findings and recommendations.
Case Story Compendium
Compile a collection of case stories (1–2 per country) highlighting lived experiences of children and youth with disabilities affected by migration.
In-country Policy Snapshot
Prepare a 2–3 page overview per country, identifying gaps and opportunities in migration and disability frameworks, with a focus on protection and access to services.
Set of Recommendations
Develop strategic objectives and multi-level interventions (regional, national, community) to support children and youth with disabilities affected by migration.
Recommendations should be tailored for use by NGOs, governments, and donors.
Stakeholder Engagement
Organize and facilitate 1–2 virtual dissemination events to share findings and gather feedback from regional actors.
