Role Purpose

The purpose of this volunteer recruitment is to support the Ready for Tomorrow project in strengthening evidence-based reporting, learning, and accountability. Volunteers will play a critical role in collecting, validating, and analyzing project-related data, particularly through phone interviews and structured follow-ups with project beneficiaries, including youth participants and startup owners.

This will also serve as a capacity-building opportunity, where volunteers will be trained on the project’s overall objectives, results framework, and key performance indicators. The volunteers will be deployed within Plan premises and selected partner organizations while reporting directly to Plan’s Project Manager and M&E project focal point

Dimensions of the Role

The volunteers’ role focuses on supporting the Ready for Tomorrow project by collecting, validating, and analyzing data, with no financial responsibilities or budget management. Volunteers do not have direct reports but collaborate closely with partner organizations and are relied upon by the project team to provide accurate and reliable information from beneficiaries, particularly youth and start-up owners. The role requires consistent communication with beneficiaries through phone interviews and field follow-ups when needed, as well as submitting weekly progress updates to the M&E Coordinator. While the role contributes to the external visibility of the project through accurate data collection, it does not involve formal representation or decision-making beyond the defined tasks.

Accountabilities

  • Conduct structured phone interviews with beneficiaries to collect accurate and comprehensive data on employment and entrepreneurship status.
  • Validate and ensure the accuracy of collected data in coordination with the project team and partners.
  • Submit weekly progress updates and key findings to the M&E Coordinator.
  • Contribute to data analysis, identifying performance indicators and outcomes related to youth employability and start up performance.
  • Support the preparation of tables, charts, and visual summaries for internal reports and presentations.
  • Follow up with youth-led start-up and supported businesses to assess progress, challenges, and impact.
  • Participate in capacity-building trainings and adhere to data quality principles and ethical interviewing standards.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of all data and prevent unauthorized sharing of information.

Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan.

Technical expertise, skills and knowledge

Essential

  • Strong communication skills, particularly in conducting structured phone interviews.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and entry.
  • Basic knowledge of data management and validation processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Interest in youth employment and entrepreneurship issues.
  • Ability to commit to a flexible schedule, meeting minimum weekly hours required by the project.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and partner organizations.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in data collection or conducting surveys.
  • Basic understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) and M&E tools.
  • Familiarity with youth development or entrepreneurship projects in Jordan.
  • Skills in data analysis and preparing comprehensive reports.

ROLE PROFILE

Type of Role: Volunteer role supporting the Ready for Tomorrow project in data collection and analysis.

Contract Duration: 15 days per month for 4 months (from August 2025 to November 2025), with the possibility of extension based on project needs and volunteer availability.

Reports to: Project Manager and M&E Coordinator at Plan International Jordan.

Location: Plan International Jordan premises and partner organizations’ offices, with phone-based tasks and occasional field visits as needed.
