Christian Aid Ireland is looking for a new Programme Development and Funding Manager (€57,198 – €60,400 per annum).
This is an exciting opportunity to take up a senior role in a dynamic and growing team with a track record of developing and implementing innovative programmes across Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. You will be an energetic self-starter that can lead both the programme funding work and the development of appropriate systems and structures to support the growth of institutional funding for Christian Aid Ireland’s programmes. This is a relatively new role and there is scope for you to influence its development, so you will be a strategic thinker who can identify and propose effective solutions. You will have a demonstrated track record of building relationships with donors and successful bid leadership. Experience of establishing programme funding systems would be a strong bonus. You will be a team player but will also be comfortable working independently, sometimes with minimum supervision, and leading teams on bid development and other issues when needed. You will ideally be based in Ireland but we will consider exceptional candidates based in the UK. We cannot offer contracts to anyone based permanently outside Ireland or the UK.
The role works within the Programme Team of Christian Aid Ireland and works closely with the global Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention Team. You will engage closely and collaboratively with the Programme Funding Division (PFD), which facilitates access to restricted funding across all of Christian Aid and will work with Christian Aid Ireland’s Fundraising and Supporter Engagement team to ensure the right balance between restricted and unrestricted income, and when co-funding is required. You will be expected to establish relationships and structures to support the role’s objectives, with the support of the Christian Aid Ireland Programme Team and the PFD. You will work closely with specified Country Programmes to access and manage funds in support of their strategic priorities. You will be expected to travel occasionally to support country teams and/or for donor liaison and relationship building. You will work closely with other fundraising teams to ensure excellence in programme design and delivery and donor management. You will network and build relationships with both traditional and non-traditional players within the development sector to create new opportunities and ways of working. You will provide expert technical guidance related to the design, inception and delivery of large and complex programmes. You will work with staff from across the wider Christian Aid family to plan and execute quality interventions in line with corporate strategy and programme/contractual obligations.
