Background
The joint program in Guatemala, ACTuando Juntas Jotay , is the response to the GOAT initiative, initiated by eight European members of the ACT Alliance. Together, they share a strong foundation and track record as faith-based organizations among their allies and international organizations. As members of the ACT Alliance, they remain committed to working together and with other ACT Alliance partners, both nationally and internationally.

Jotay established itself in Guatemala in April 2017 with the active collaboration of currently four organizations (Church Aid Norway, Bread for the World, Act Church of Sweden, and the Lutheran World Federation).

Jotay is working on four thematic areas: a. Gender justice centered on women’s rights, b. Sustainable management of natural resources, c. Rule of law and democratic citizen security, d. Disaster risk management and humanitarian response.

The JOTAY Acting Together Program cooperates with civil society organizations and movements (women, indigenous peoples, human rights defenders), research centers, organizations, actors, and religious leaders working on the aforementioned thematic areas, both at the national and departmental and municipal levels.

Job Description:
Plan, coordinate, implement, and monitor the actions of the Environmental Management and Sustainable Territories program area, ensuring the quality, relevance, and fulfillment of projects, as well as generating strategic synergies with partners, allies, and key stakeholders, contributing to the achievement of institutional objectives.

Main responsibilities:
Contribute to the formulation, execution, and evaluation of the Strategic Plan, policies, and guidelines of the
program area.

Manage the full project cycle, from the identification and evaluation of partners to the closure and
systematization of results.
ï‚·
Ensure that proposals and their implementation meet quality criteria, thematic relevance, and connection with the program area’s indicators.
ï‚·
Coordinate with the financial area and PMEA the monitoring, report analysis, disbursement approval, and capacity building of partner organizations.
ï‚·
Prepare, consolidate, and supervise narrative reports of the area, on a semiannual, annual, or other required basis.
ï‚·
Promote thematic and territorial synergies between partners and strategic actors to maximize impact, impact, and good practices.
ï‚·
Plan, coordinate, and monitor the area’s POAs and annual plans, ensuring the integration of cross-cutting themes.
ï‚·
Contribute to the fundraising strategy by preparing concept notes and proposals, and developing relationships with potential donors.
ï‚·
Represent the program in assigned spaces, strengthening coordination with various sectors, academia, and related networks.
ï‚·
Supervise and support staff and consultancies under their charge, ensuring compliance with objectives, product quality, and capacity development.

Minimum essential requirements:
ï‚·
– University degree in Agricultural, Environmental, Civil Sciences, or related fields.
– Minimum of 5 years’ experience in international development cooperation organizations, with
: – technical and budgetary responsibility, full project cycle management, and preparation of programmatic and executive reports in the assigned thematic area.
– Intermediate English. Ideally, proficiency in a Mayan language is desirable.
– High level of computer technology for environmental and/or georeferencing issues, as well as for data collection and management within the framework of project management.
– Ability to establish and strengthen strategic alliances with various stakeholders, demonstrating active listening, innovation, and continuous learning.
– Excellent analytical and written communication skills, including document drafting, risk assessment, and commitment to safeguard policies.
– Willingness to travel frequently within and outside the country.
