Background
Founded in 1991, ChildFund Ireland works in 13 countries partnering with ChildFund International and other ChildFund Alliance members to support programs for children. ChildFund Ireland’s programs support children’s holistic development through a life stage model, connecting them with the people and resources they need to grow up healthy, educated, skilled and safe. Core to its mission, ChildFund leverages the support of its sponsors and donors, talented global staff, and local partners to:
- help children living in poverty develop the capacity to improve their lives and the opportunity to bring lasting change to their communities
- promote societies that value, protect, and advance the well-being and rights of children, and enrich supporters’ lives through their support of the organization’s cause
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead on the development and execution of a strategic plan for significant growth
- Diversify ChildFund’s revenue by driving new partnerships with individual donors; Irish and European government agencies; organizations engaged in international development; foundations; and private corporations
- Directly cultivate donor relationships to support ChildFund programs and lead the preparation of winning proposals for seven-figure grants
- Working with ChildFund International develop marketing and fundraising plans to grow revenue and brand recognition for ChildFund in Ireland
- Work closely with ChildFund International Programs and Partnerships division in program and business development.
- Serve as the spokesperson for ChildFund Ireland.
- Build a small but mighty team that values and champions diversity, equity and inclusion and results for children
- Oversee operational performance against established annual goals and stretch targets. This includes creating financial stability and ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards and policies
- Work with staff and the Board to ensure that ChildFund Ireland is robustly governed to meet the highest levels of regulatory compliance
- Report in a transparent and thorough manner to the Board on all matters relating to the management and finances of the organisation
