How can you make a difference? Key Duties/Responsibilities
The Director of the Health Center will have the main responsibility of managing the activities
daily operations of the Center and lead the strategic development initiatives necessary to ensure compliance with objectives and quality of care, as well as coordinate and supervise the activities of the health center’s multidisciplinary team, ensuring the proper implementation of activities in accordance with the standards of the Venezuelan Red Cross.
He/she will be in charge of:
· Manage the Health Center based on current legislation and regulations, ensuring compliance with national standards and Venezuelan Red Cross protocols.
· Assume the representation of the Health Center and its professionals before the population and the various administrations and institutions.
· Plan, direct, and supervise all activities of the Health Center to ensure compliance with health programs and the quality of the services offered.
· Ensure the efficient and transparent use of available resources, maintaining effective communication with the Health Center’s administrative management.
· Promote continuous improvement processes at the Health Center.
· Strengthen the Business Unit to promote self-management.
· Manage human resources, including identifying staffing needs, recruiting, monitoring the proper performance of health professionals’ duties, and evaluating staff.
· Contribute to maintaining the competence of healthcare professionals by facilitating knowledge management and identifying training needs.
· Promote the participation and collaboration of all professionals in community, teaching, and research activities.
· Promote a suitable working environment and contribute to improving the working conditions of various professionals.
· Maintain active relationships with governmental and non-governmental organizations to strengthen intra- and intersectoral networks.
· Keep regulatory permits up to date.
· Ensure the fluidity of data reporting according to the data management systems established by the Venezuelan Red Cross.
· Monitor compliance with epidemiological surveillance standards within the facility and periodically evaluate epidemiological indicators to detect trends or outbreaks, share information, and coordinate responses.
· Produce regular, accurate, and timely reports for the Venezuelan Red Cross management and donors according to their requirements.
• Perform other duties related to the position and those assigned by immediate superiors, based on the characteristics and special conditions of this profile, to provide quality service that meets the organization’s objectives and goals.
Report:
The Director of the Health Center will report to the president of the branch board of directors, the branch director, and the National Health Coordination.
Workplace:
Coro, Falcón state (Venezuelan Red Cross Health Center, Coro Branch).
To qualify as a builder of the Venezuelan humanitarian system, you must meet the following requirements:
• University degree in medicine (mandatory). Candidates with a specialization in public health, health systems management, global health, or related fields will be considered.
• A minimum of five (5) years of progressive professional experience in health is required, particularly in emergency settings, with demonstrable experience in health promotion, prevention and care programs.
• Strong program management skills, including planning, activity tracking, financial management, monitoring and evaluation.
• Proven ability to implement hospital and emergency health programs.
• Proven ability to oversee the management of pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and nutritional products, and to review international products.
• Knowledge of sector regulations, both in Venezuela and internationally.
• Strong skills in health information systems, including data collection, analysis, and tool use.
• Strong analytical and writing skills, capable of fostering and maintaining partnerships.
• Ability to train and guide staff and volunteers, to provide technical support and capacity building.
• Experience in facilitating organizational development processes is required.
• Experience working with the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement is desirable.
• Oral and written fluency in Spanish and English is a requirement.
• Excellent communication skills, ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Capacity and agreement to adhere to the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.
• Preferably work experience in emergency contexts with volunteer management.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
