SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association that, for over 40 years, has been providing relief to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their basic needs, such as food, water, and shelter. Particularly committed to combating diseases linked to unsafe water, the world’s leading cause of death, SI’s interventions provide expertise in the areas of access to drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene promotion, as well as in the essential area of ​​food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, SI’s teams – a total of 3,200 people, including expatriates, national employees, permanent staff at headquarters, and a few volunteers – operate with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.

THE MISSION

The mission in Haiti currently manages five projects. Four projects concern the WASH sector, including one funded by DG ECHO in consortium with a local NGO, one funded by CDCS in consortium with an international NGO and a local NGO, one funded by the SDC, and one funded by IOM.

A fifth project focuses on food security and livelihoods (FSL), funded by IFSAN. Discussions are also underway with UNICEF.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE

Ensure compliance with internal practices and standards by disseminating good internal control practices. Contribute to the success of external audits and the follow-up of recommendations, while developing proactive risk management. Prevent and address abuses, ensure transparency and be the preferred contact for headquarters for questions related to audits, internal procedures and archiving.

SPECIFIC ISSUES AND CHALLENGES

As part of an improvement in the internal management of the audit and compliance policy, the Compliance, Risk and Transparency Coordinator will aim to carry out a complete review of compliance-related procedures in preparation for upcoming audits and will be responsible for training the teams.

SECURITY CONSTRAINTS

Haiti is categorized as Level 4. Security is quite volatile/degraded in Port-au-Prince due to the presence of gangs but does not prevent the conduct of activities. The mission’s security rules are strict (curfew at 8 p.m. in Port-au-Prince).

SI will offer you the following conditions

A salaried position: Depending on experience, from EUR 2860 gross per month (2600 basic salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of USD 750.

SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate’s home country and the duty station.

Breaks: During the mission, a system of alternating between work and leave is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with USD 850 allocated by Solidarités International). In addition to these break periods, there is one additional day of rest per month worked.

Social and medical coverage: Expatriates benefit from insurance that reimburses all health costs (including medical and surgical expenses, dental and ophthalmological care, and repatriation) and a welfare system that includes war risks. The costs of essential vaccinations and anti-malarial treatment are reimbursed.

LIVING CONDITIONS:

The position is based in Port-au-Prince, and the accommodation offered is in a guesthouse with individual rooms located in a secure compound 1 km from the office. The standard is very good (swimming pools, tennis court, room with private bathroom).
Restaurants, a supermarket, and shops cover all needs.
The office is also decent, well located in a residential area.

Drafting of audit, investigation and compliance reports
