Job Purpose
To lead Violet (MenekÅŸe) organization according to the strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities
ï‚§ Strategic management:
ï‚§ Commitment to the path and values of the organization (Faith in youth and volunteers, Integrity and honesty, sacrifice and altruism, teamwork and team spirit, innovation and creativity, Integrity in dealing and beneficiary dignity, responsiveness and initiative).
ï‚§ Respect and apply all the PSEA principles, and show high commitment to report any PSEA action
ï‚§ Participate with the Board in developing a vision and strategic the organization.
ï‚§ Assess, and inform the Board of internal and external issues that affect the organization.
ï‚§ Act as a speaker and the person in charge of the organization at community activities to enhance the Violet (MenekÅŸe) profile.
ï‚§ Work with Board and all departments to secure adequate funding for the operation of the organization.
ï‚§ Plans funding proposals to increase the funds of the organization.
ï‚§ Operational Planning
ï‚§ Develop an operational plan which incorporates objectives that work towards the strategic direction of Violet (MenekÅŸe)
ï‚§ Ensure, and oversee that the operations of Violet (MenekÅŸe) meet the expectations of its donors, board, and funders
ï‚§ Draft policies for the approval of the Board and prepare procedures to implement the organizational policies, and review existing policies on an annual basis and recommend changes to the Board as appropriate.
ï‚§ Ensure that all documentation and files for all stakeholders are securely stored and privacy/confidentiality is maintained
ï‚§ Provide support to Board by preparing meeting agenda and supporting materials.
ï‚§ Programs Management
ï‚§ Oversee the planning, and evaluation of the Violet (MenekÅŸe) programs.
ï‚§ Ensure that the Violet (MenekÅŸe) projects contribute to the organization’s mission and reflect the priorities of the Board.
ï‚§ Oversee the activities of the projects of the organization to maintain or improve quality.
ï‚§ Human Resources Management
ï‚§ Determine staffing requirements for the organization
ï‚§ Oversee the implementation of human resources policies, procedures, and practices.
ï‚§ Establish a positive, healthy and safe work environment in accordance.
ï‚§ Implement a performance management process for all staff which includes monitoring the performance of staff on an on-going basis and conducting an annual performance review
ï‚§ Financial Management
ï‚§ Approve expenditures within the authority delegated by the Board
ï‚§ Ensure that financial and accounting procedures are followed as policies of the organization.
ï‚§ Administer the funds of the organization according to the approved budget and monitor the monthly cash flow of the organization
ï‚§ Provide the Board with comprehensive, regular reports on the revenues and expenditure of the organization
ï‚§ Ensure that the organization complies with all legislation covering taxation and the required conditions of the Turkish government
ï‚§ Relations/Advocacy
ï‚§ Communicate with stakeholders to keep them informed of the work of Violet (MenekÅŸe) and to identify changes in the community served by the organization
ï‚§ Establish good working relationships with community groups, funders, politicians, and other organizations to help achieve the goals of the organization.
ï‚§ Risk Management
ï‚§ Identify and evaluate the risks to the organization’s team, property, finances to control these risks.
ï‚§ Ensure that the organization carries appropriate and adequate insurance coverage.
Note: the above-mentioned key responsibilities / accountabilities are illustrative ones. Another future responsibilities/accountability may be assigned to the job depending on the department organizational chart.
Qualification (Education/Work Experience)
A. Essential:
ï‚§ Bachelor Degree in business administration, or related fields.
ï‚§ Five years of progressive management in a humanitarian sector, two years in senior management.
ï‚§ Advanced level in English, and Arabic.
B. Desirable:
ï‚§ Master degree in business administration, or related fields.
ï‚§ More than 5 years of professional experience management in a humanitarian sector, three years in senior management.
ï‚§ Fluent in English, Arabic, and good level of Turkish.

ï‚§ Knowledge of project management.
ï‚§ Knowledge of all legislation applicable NGO including employment standards, human rights, occupational health and safety, charities, taxation, health coverage.

ï‚§ Knowledge of humanitarian principles and standards
ï‚§ Excellent Knowledge about Syria humanitarian context.
ï‚§ Report writing experience
