Country Director South Sudan At HealthNet TPO

HealthNet TPO is recruiting a new Country Director (CD) to lead our South Sudan program to be based in Juba, the capital of South Sudan. We need an experienced, hands-on leader who is familiar with the challenges of operating in conflict settings such as South Sudan.

General context

HealthNet TPO is an NGO and global aid agency with roots in The Netherlands, that has been working on restoring and strengthening health care systems in areas disrupted by war or disaster since 1992. Our mission is to facilitate and strengthen communities and help them to regain control and maintain their health and wellbeing. We are convinced that even the most vulnerable people have the inner strength to (re) build a better future for themselves.

HealthNet TPO’s programme in South Sudan dates from 1995. Currently HealthNet TPO works in the Central Equatorial, Western Bahr el Ghazal, Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Warrap, Jonglei and Upper Nile States. The country office is located in Juba, with field offices in Terekeka, , Raja, Kuajok and Nyamlel. The program is presently funded by Health Pooled Fund, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Global Fund and the World Health Organization. A total of 82 national and international staffs are currently employed by HealthNet TPO in South Sudan.

Purpose of the position

The purpose of this position is to manage the HealthNet TPO program in South Sudan in line with the organization’s vision and strategic directions. The Country Director has the overall responsibility for the successful running of the Country Programs as well as the development and expansion of the country’s portfolio.
