Project Assistant Intern SCH/STH and Oncho At Sightsavers

Purpose of role

The primary purpose of this internship is to support the Project Officer on the implementation of Deworming and Oncho/LF projects in Guinea and to ensure that the projects are within budget and implemented to the agreed project schedule/documents within the timelines proposed through collaboration with partners.

The Operations, Planning and Finance team in Guinea are excited to have an internship opportunity to offer a recent graduate. The post-holder will support the NTD Project Officer in multiple ways to enhance the program work.

About the role of Project Assistant Intern SCH/STH and Oncho

  • Work with the Project Officer and Technical staff/ focal persons to ensure eye health, NTD projects and sensitive projects are well implemented according to required standards
  • Support to monitor and report the project activities
  • Help to check all the MoU and PFAs are signed and well filed
  • Ensure all projects’ documents (Concept notes, Full proposals, log frames, APRs, etc) are well filed electronically and in hard copies
  • Work with the Project Officer to ensure requested information and documents are uploaded in the Programme Portal
  • Support the Project Officer on the activities operational planning and implementation

Knowledge, skills and experience

Essential:

  • Educated at least to graduate degree level in Medicine, Public Health or similar.
  • Great competence in using Microsoft office package (Excel, PPT, Word).
  • Ability to build relationship with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate at least one year’s experience and competence in NTD or public health sector.
  • An understanding of and commitment to equity, gender, and social inclusion.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Can identify important issues and communicate these effectively to colleagues.
  • Experience in assisting in the implementation of programmes
  • Experience of working partnerships with stakeholders from government, MoH and civil society
  • Fluent English
  • Current and ongoing right to work in Guinea

Interviews are likely to take place week commencing 1 August 2022. here will be a two-stage interview process. First stage will be a written task to be conducted at the Country Office in Guinea. Successful candidates will be invited to a second stage face to face interview at the Country Office in Guinea.
