Multimedia and Communications Officer At Save the Children

Role Purpose

The LV Multimedia Communications Officer will be part of the team implementing the “Literate Village” project. S/he will work under the supervision of the LV Advocacy and Communication Lead in Cairo, in collaboration with the project team, and the Communications Department of Save the Children. The Multimedia Communications Officer will be responsible for creating high-quality communications and media content according to the communications plan in line with the project’s strategic visibility and advocacy objectives. S/he will be responsible for editing and processing the project’s media assets and generating new content for the project as per the direction of the Advocacy & Communications Lead. The role includes producing both print and digital content, participating in shooting and filming visits, and running social media campaigns as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 years of experience, including at least two years of experience in a humanitarian/NGO and/or Development context.
  • 2 years of experience in multimedia production (photos, videos, graphic designs).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject (Communications, Marketing, Media, PR, or Graphic Design and equivalent field experience).
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of design skills and design packages, such as InDesign/Photoshop/Illustrator, or equivalent software
  • Good knowledge of communication material production process and solid experience in producing high-quality content and graphic design output.
  • Evidence of excellent verbal and written communications skills in both English and Arabic.
  • Capacity and willingness to be flexible and agile, carrying out regular field visits to project sites as needed.
  • Motivated and able to work independently; able to meet tight deadlines and prioritise tasks accordingly.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion to empower lives and transform communities through education.
  • Commitment to aims and principles of Save the Children.

In particular, a good understanding of the Save the Children’s mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience in social media marketing an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of video editing skills and software an asset.
  • Experience with photography & videography an asset.
  • Commitment and interest in working within an NGO environment.
