IT Officer – Azaz , Syria At GOAL

General Description of the Programme:

GOAL has been working in Syria since 2013, responding to the acute needs of conflict-affected communities. GOAL is working in Idleb Governate, both through direct implementation and through partners, delivering food, non-food programming to highly vulnerable populations, and provision of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) through support to Water units, as well as emergency support to recently displaced households.

GOAL has been working in North Aleppo Governate since 2019, through direct implementation and through partners, delivering food, non-food programming to highly vulnerable populations, as well as emergency support for recently displaced household.

Job purpose:

The purpose of this role is to provide IT Technical Support to GOAL staff such as hardware and software support, get the installed programs up to date and maintained correctly with applying GOAL Global IT policy.

The IT Officer assists users who are having problems with software, computers, or peripherals such as printers, scanners, phones, or access points.

Also, to set-up, install and troubleshoot, service, upgrades for IT equipment and applications.

In addition, work with IT Assistant to support technically all GOAL offices in Azaz and Jindires area.

The role based in Azaz main GOAL office with ability to support other GOAL working area in general remotely.

Duties, objectives and competencies

  • Manage User accounts on office 365 admin center users / groups and licenses assignment.
  • Manage and monitor the IT Helpdesk ticking system, make sure to assign tickets upon receive.
  • Technical support for CCTV Camera system and recording systems.
  • Ensure all PCs are up to GOAL standards with standard applications and anti-virus software
  • Ensure IT Policy and annexes are in applied.
  • Ensure all laptops and tablets are locked and encrypted, up to date and working probably
  • PC’s, printers, scanners, and any IT devices, to be maintained to a high standard
  • Maintains system capability by testing Servers, internet, and network components
  • Update the IT trackers for assets changes and accounts setup
  • Ensure IT equipment are maintained, assets such as servers wire and wireless devices are checked regularly for alert/issues and that environment the equipment is kept in is maintained (in terms of Air conditioning etc.)
  • Ensure all filters and roles for internet firewall and security are working probably and updated in case of require
  • Ensure cloud backups are applied to laptops and synchronized with SharePoint or GOAL standards backup platforms.
  • Manage local network for IP and routing configuration.
  • To carry out work out of office hours where necessary to do so
  • Work on IT other related tasks assigned by the direct line manager as required.
  • Be responsible for the IT Assistant to arrange working plans and assign tickets and work closely as daily basis.

Requirements (essential)

  • University Degree of computer science or information technology similar or like in kind IT sector.
  • Experience in IT help desk Software/Hardware maintenance
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the IT industry
  • Technical courses or similar hardware technical maintenance experience
  • Windows 10/11 operating system installation and maintenance
  • Experience in Microsoft office 365 programs and admin center in general
  • Experience in network servicing such as DHCP, IP addressing schemes, DNS
  • Networking – Experience at good level of network switch and routers connections Troubleshooting and resolution of network issues
  • Knowledge of backup solutions platforms
  • Very enthusiastic and keen to work hard to achieve the objectives of the programme
  • Professional level spoken and written English and Arabic .

Requirements (desired)

  • University certificate in Computer since of similar like in-kind sector
  • Computer service and maintenance technical courses .
