Here’s where you come in:
- Lead the technical oversight of MHPSS programming particularly in regard to the impact of COVID-19 on children and families – through adaption of technical guidance at a global level and promote understanding of MHPSS issues, principles, policy and practice.
- Be a focal point for MHPSS issues with a focus on COVID-19 in cross and multisector programming such as the hunger crisis to technical sectors including Health, Child Protection, GESI, faith and development and other relevant sectors. Engage at a regional and global level with donors, MHPSS organizations and coordination bodies and represent WV at global forums. Engage in appropriate research at the field level, engaging with research institutions, field offices and partners to position WV as a credible partner.
- Provide support to field offices in design, implementation and capacity building of staff and ongoing mentoring of MHPSS managers. Provide review and support to funding proposals and research that have a MHPSS component with SO, RO and national GAM units. Train field staff in approved MHPSS interventions
- Contribute to global MPSS policy, and practice through quality analysis dialogue and documentation of field-based research and practice.
Requirements include:
- Mental Health professional with a Degree or Master of Art/Science degree in Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Clinical Social Work or a Clinical qualification related field in Mental Health.
- Knowledge of public health, protection, human rights, international development, project management or other relevant field is an added advantage
- A minimum of 7 working experience in mental health and psychosocial support in humanitarian or development contexts in LMIC, 3 of which were in a supervisory or strategic role
- Clinical experience at community level, either in a research or clinical capacity
- Experience in development of strategies, designing programs and training materials, conducting training (face to face and online) and providing technical assistance.
- Understanding of the donor landscape for MHPSS funding and experience in grant writing and budgeting
- Psychological Association Practice License or Accreditation is an added advantage
- Travel up to 50% of time with extended periods of 6 to 8 weeks of field work
- Fluent in English language skills is required. A second language skill as Arabic or French or Spanish is high advantage
