Tasks related to the PROGRAM EXPERTISE AND QUALITY DEPARTMENT

  • To provide support to the SEQP for the search for technical and/or thematic information (bibliographic research, documentary synthesis, etc.), on the subjects carried out by the different SEQP hubs (SAME, EAH, SERA and cross-cutting protection, etc.)
  • Supporting team members in the capitalization processes: translation, proofreading, correction, and distribution of documents produced by the SEQP (activity sheets, internal notes, manuals, etc.)
  • Attend the SEQP’s bi-monthly meetings and draft the minutes
  • Participate in event organization: coordinate logistics (venue booking, team-building activity planning , etc.), participate in the design and smooth running of meetings, and write up the minutes.
  • Participate in the design and distribution of the SEQP newsletter to field teams.
  • Participate in updating data/indicators on internal dashboards
  • Monitor the SEQP budget

The tasks to be performed are cross-functional, therefore requiring autonomy, versatility, and availability. Knowledge of, or at least a desire to understand, the humanitarian sector and its constraints is essential. The tasks described in this announcement will evolve according to the needs of the various sectoral divisions of the SEQP, as well as ongoing projects at headquarters.

SI is committed to offering the intern a variety of tasks as well as in-house pre-departure training, allowing them to effectively enhance their skills and experience for future humanitarian work. This internship provides an opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the workings of a humanitarian NGO, its constraints, and the different approaches that guide its actions.

Education and experience:

Advanced degree in humanitarian project management, political science, or international relations. Technical training in, or a strong interest in, water and sanitation or agronomy will be an asset.

Required skills:

  • Interest in the water, hygiene and sanitation sectors and/or agriculture/rural development and/or project monitoring/evaluation
  • Good writing and summarizing skills, in French and English
  • Fluent French and English required
  • Knowledge of the humanitarian project cycle
  • Sensitive to the quality approach in the implementation of programs

Required qualities:

  • Having a genuine interest in the non-profit and humanitarian sectors
  • To be proactive, possessing a critical and reactive mind
  • Demonstrate rigor, a high degree of autonomy, and the ability to adapt.
  • Being able to manage multiple cases simultaneously
  • Knowing how to manage stress, being available, demonstrating diplomacy/interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of Office tools and software
  • Internship based at the headquarters of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL in Clichy (92), near the Mairie de Clichy metro station
  • Internship with mandatory internship agreement.
  • Compensation: 4.90 euros/hour
  • The bonus is calculated pro rata based on the actual hours worked during the month. (On average, 1 month = 154 hours, or 22 days of 7 hours/day)
  • Public transport costs are 50% covered by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
  • Meal vouchers at €8.90 per day of internship, with 60% contribution from SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
