About the Role:
Our company is seeking experienced and proactive Field Supervisors to lead our field monitoring teams for a bid to provide Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) services to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in Syria. The Field Supervisor will be responsible for organizing, supervising, and ensuring the quality of field monitoring activities, providing critical oversight and support to a team of Field Monitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Coordination:Â Organize, guide, and supervise the work of a team of Field Monitors to ensure comprehensive coverage of all assigned monitoring sites.
- Quality Assurance:Â Conduct regular field visits to support and supervise data collection exercises, performing cross-check interviews and completing supervisory checklists to ensure the highest data quality and integrity.
- Logistics & Planning:Â Liaise with WFP field offices to develop weekly/monthly monitoring plans and ensure all necessary logistics, administrative arrangements, and security protocols are in place for the field teams.
- Stakeholder Liaison:Â Contact relevant local authorities and cooperating partners to facilitate smooth monitoring exercises and secure necessary approvals.
- Problem Solving:Â Resolve operational challenges in the field and ensure high-priority issues are communicated immediately and directly to the relevant WFP field office.
- Reporting & Communication:Â Quality-check all monitoring reports and data submissions before they are sent to WFP. Provide regular updates to the Project Coordinator on field activities and team performance.
- Capacity Building:Â Provide continuous training, support, and regular feedback to Field Monitors to ensure consistent quality of work and reports.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education:Â A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, International Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience:
- A minimum of three years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, data collection, or field research is mandatory.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or team leadership role is required.
- Significant experience working in a humanitarian context in Syria is highly preferred.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate, influence, and support a team.
- Fluency in Arabic is required. English skills are required for reporting and coordination.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage complex field schedules and reporting deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in challenging and remote environments.
- High ethical standards, integrity, and cultural sensitivity.
Specific Requirements:
- The role requires a full-time presence on the ground and frequent travel to project sites.
- The company must ensure an even balance of male and female Field Supervisors. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Availability for communication with WFP field offices on a daily basis, including weekends, due to the dynamic nature of humanitarian operations.
- The monthly compensation for this position is 3,979,800 SYP.
