3. Professional Competencies
Requested:
- Bachelor’s degree or technical studies related to emergency response in humanitarian contexts, peacebuilding and conflict resolution, risk management, security, civil protection, or related areas. Postgraduate studies or certifications in emergency management, drills, first aid, or security in humanitarian contexts will be considered an asset.
- More than 3 (three) years of relevant demonstrated experience in humanitarian or development operations
- Fundamental understanding of Humanitarian Principles and their application in programmatic and advocacy responses, NGO security and risk management, and humanitarian access.
- Ability to synthesize and analyze a large volume of information into concise reports
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel, digital platforms, and artificial intelligence applied to security.
- Proficiency in working in the Spanish language

- English Language Proficiency
Specific skills, knowledge and experience of the context :
Requested:
- Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts, especially in Mexican territory.
- Experience in liaising with communities and authorities, as well as with NGOs.
- Knowledge of first aid
- Security for humanitarian operations in complex (urban/rural) contexts
- Extensive knowledge of the country and the area office; prior work experience in the state of Michoacán will be highly valued.
- Ability to coordinate between NRC departments and external entities
- Experience in security training, preferably in a humanitarian context
- Knowledge of computer mapping programs, including Google Earth; strong command of map reading, land navigation and GPS coordinate plotting.
- Experience in safety training and guidance for good practices and risk reduction in work activities
- Experience in developing drills and evacuation plans.
- Knowledge and experience in negotiating for humanitarian access with armed actors and authorities of military forces or weapons.
- Knowledge of security management in environments with risks from drone attacks or mines
- Knowledge of safe driving and 4×4
- Desirable: to have experience and knowledge related to Civil Protection protocols and applicable safety standards in Mexican territory, including their practical application in work contexts.
